Youth mental health first aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a course created to equip adults—such as parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff, neighbors, and community members—with the knowledge and skills to support adolescents (ages 12-18) facing mental health challenges, substance use issues, or crises.

As a certified YMHFA instructor, I feel passionate about bringing this knowledge to individuals and organizations in the community.

Designed for those who regularly interact with young people, this program explores typical adolescent development and introduces common mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, substance use, ADHD and eating disorders. Participants learn practical skills to provide effective support in both crisis and non-crisis situations, fostering better outcomes and understanding for the youth they care about.
